19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after that period of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.
The player's counter-punching play style and recurring reactions on court had led some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an better serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five games to take the lead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a final set.
The opponent defended four initial break points in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
